Day 54 - When Foxie fixed the snags.
Day 54 - When Foxie fixed the snags.
Snagging works on site today in The Lodge, and more safety film to the windows in The Barn - one more stint and that will be nearly there!
Our volunteers worked hard in The Lodge downstairs kitchen and prep room, clearing the cupboards ready for painting in both rooms. They deep cleaned both rooms again and then sugar soaped the walls in the kitchen and taped, ready for painting tomorrow. In the prep room, we applied wall finishing skim to the areas it needed, taped ready for painting and Volunteer Sallyann won our prize of the day for her removal of the old sealant from the bottom edges of the tiles - it was a hard fought battle, with what was later discovered to be possibly the bluntest stanley knife blade of all time, but she won! (and tomorrow we'll find a sharper one for the removal in the kitchen.
We had other volunteers fixing bits of carpet, drains and light fittings elsewhere in The Lodge to get it ready for its dry-run occupants at the 24-Hour Sing next weekend and not much to go now!
We drew the winners of our Golden Ticket Raffle draw, congratulations to winners Caroline and Angela!
And we finished up the day by prepping the kitchen cupboard doors for varnishing, ready for those volunteers arriving for that task in the Main Hall of The Lodge tomorrow.
Time for a rest now before a new week, Love Foxie x
