Day 71 - When Foxie finished lots of things and started lots of others (or PATrick's adventure off site!)
So many things going on on site today! We started the day early with our fire alarm engineer arriving at 8am to start work on installing the equipment in The Lodge, The Barn and The Coach House to make them remotely monitored alarm systems the same as Foxlease House already is - Foxie supervised, of course!
We had some outside work going on clearing more of the weeds and overgrowth at the back of Foxlease House outside of the Dining Room windows and the before and after areas look much better and under control again, thanks to Volunteer Karen.
We had lots of activity in The Barn, with holes in the floor from the old heating system pipework being filled in with expanding foam, ready for filing down and levelling off once it's set - it looks a bit like Foxie is sitting on a scoop of ice cream but that's definitely not the case! We had more work going on in The Barn alongside that to prepare the day room and small bunk room off of the main hall for painting - scrubbing with sugar scrub, filling holes and taping up ready for sanding and painting action soon and then that little area will be ready to go, along with the main hall itself - halfway there!
The oven in the downstairs kitchen in The Lodge is now sparkling clean, thanks to three days of intensive cleaning and we're so grateful to everyone who has made a donation of some kind to fund our purchase of the new ovens needed in The Barn and upstairs in The Lodge. We're making great progress, with more fundraising to do, and we've been discussing the options with our electrician to make sure that we've got the right one coming soon, ready for a swift fitting and action for our first guests.
Off site PATrick the new PAT Testing equipment, purchased with a very kind donation, was on its second day out as we've had a couple of the Team trained up to learn how to work it to help us get through the hundreds and hundreds of different small electrical items which will need testing in order to make Foxlease Park run as it should when the site is open. PATrick will be safely returning to site tomorrow ready for testing action soon.
Weather permitting, more outside areas tomorrow, alongside some painting in The Barn x
