Day 16 - Foxie's big skip into being corporate, voluntarily.

It was so nice to see The Accessible Suite back in occupation with glowing lights in the early morning on site - it has some final bits to finish off and a window to replace but then it should be back to fighting fitness.  Today one of our volunteers who has been working hard on the project for us donated and fitted replacement net curtains and they look amazing - we'll take a photo soon.

After an early start on site to wait for the internet installer and the arrival of the big skip, and we mean BIG, typically, everything happened all at once and the skip arrived shortly before the installer and our large group of volunteers, which was a bit frantic.  We now have a connection to broadband on site....but you can only use it if you sit in the cellar at the moment until we sort the further kit needed to spread the signal further - the cellar's a great place for hide and seek, but not so good as an office space in its current form so we'll be managing without the wifi for now until we get that finalised.

We had a number of returner volunteers on site today, who have assisted us previously and it is lovely to have people coming back again and again - we're very grateful.  More pressure washer action at the side of Foxlease House and you can see the light colour returning and the sludge receding in the progress photograph.

We also had a wonderful group from Aviva who were our first corporate volunteers site, using some of their company volunteering hours to help us out and they were AMAZING! High Vis on and a quick stop by Mt. Cleaning and Mt. PPE to get kitted out and the big skip got some serious action, they scrubbed and cleaned from top to bottom for us all day, with only a very short pause for lunch.  We managed to give them a short walk round some of Foxlease House before it got fully dark, even though it's a bit closed up and not at full levels of shiny at the moment, and showed them The Gold Room and the South Africa balcony, with time for a little photo after they'd admired the beautiful view.  We've had a few more corporate volunteering offers which we'll be booking in as soon as we can, along with all of our non-corporate volunteering offers.  We're trying to schedule people in between now and the New Year at the moment as a priority to get boots on site and in action and we'll then turn to the New Year offers.

We've decreased Mt. Bedlinen (current remainder in photos) but only because we've started to use some of the bedding which has arrived in The Accessible Suite and it is lovely and soft!  We think the singing washing machine's plumbing has been fixed and probably will be an improvement to the damp problem in that set of rooms as we think the previous washing machine had been leaking into the the wall for a while so, fingers (and paws) crossed, the dehumidifiers will be able to do their thing successfully!
