Day 18 - The day when Foxie nearly blew away (or when Storm Darragh arrived).
Day 18 - The day when Foxie nearly blew away (or when Storm Darragh arrived).
Storm Darragh kept some of our volunteers away today as it was very blustery on site but a couple of our volunteers soldiered through the weather and spent the day on further cleaning and putting The Rug Doctor to work in The Gatehouse to make it lovely and fresh and dust/dirt free for our overnight volunteers.
We spent the morning contacting more of our volunteer enquiries to start getting people scheduled in for January and over the December period - we've got so much to do before the start of our phased opening in February we don't have any time to lose!
The Foxie Team tried hard not to get too blown away as they moved around the site (see photos) - we didn't have any tree issues identified whilst we were on site but we'll need to do a further site walk after the storm to check for any problems. The great news is that we've had a number of offers from professionals in the tree surgery and tree advisory profession who we'll be able to call on to assist us with management of the wonderful trees on site.
We've had lots of preparations for the second wreath workshop tomorrow being run by one of our volunteers going on today and we've also announced the dates for the second Foxie's 24-Hour Sing fundraiser event, taking place in January, run by more of our volunteers.
We've got lots of volunteers scheduled in for Monday and Tuesday so we hope that The Gatehouse and the Lodge might be nearly ready, save for decoration and repairs, by the end of next week.
More planning tomorrow, Love Foxie x
