Day 19 - Foxlease Park (foliage) on tour (or when Foxie went wreath-making).
It was still very windy on site today, but thankfully a volunteer-light day so no plans were interrupted. A site check suggests that Storm Darragh may have done some minor tree damage to a couples of the smaller trees on site but nothing unmanageable based on current checks. We'll be able to do a proper site check when Darragh has left (hopefully soon!).
All quiet on the laundry room front, but we've warned the Singing Washing Machine to prepare itself for more loads of curtains next week and more arrivals due to add to the Amazon Mountain - we're expecting lots of volunteers on site tomorrow so we're hoping to be back to busy business as usual from then. We spent a small part of today installing our wonderful new microwaves and toasters into their new homes and logging them in our testing register.
This afternoon was the last of the wreath-making workshops run to fundraise for us by one of our fabulous volunteers and it was great! Foxie got stuck in along with a room full of supporters who came away with the own Christmas wreath. It wasn't on site, unfortunately, but the wreaths were made using genuine Foxlease Park foliage, the real deal, collected by April despite the disgusting rainy weather this week!
We can't wait to start planning workshop days and afternoons on site next year when the relevant spaces are open again. We've got some plans of our own, but if there are things you think would be good to see and which might interest the wider community to book on to in order to help us raise some much needed funds, then Foxie would love to hear your suggestions in the comments.
Ready to wave goodbye to the (probably now waterlogged) Big Skip tomorrow, love Foxie x
