Day 39 - A pane-staking day 2 of Twixmas at Foxlease Park.
It was Day two of Twixmas at Foxlease Park but there's nothing in-between or betwixt about the progress our volunteers are making on site.
Mainly indoor tasks on the agenda today - more careful cleaning in The Gold Room in Foxlease House - no progress to update on that yet, but it is being cared for.
The first deep clean of the The Barn continued following the amazing work yesterday. For most buildings we're on at least a three phase cleaning process but the first is the worst in every case! To add to the progress in the Main Hall of The Barn yesterday and the exhaustion of our supply of mould remover on site (more en route) we had volunteers attempting to exhaust the supply of descaler by cleaning and descaling in the shower rooms in The Barn. Hard water is a challenge as it builds up and so descaling is a process, and will be an ongoing hot spot for future cleaning too in order to keep things shiny. No photos of the showers, but you can see the fire place in the photographs and the Main Hall generally looking much cleaner and brighter for our fututre guests.
We also had volunteer Philippa completing a pane-staking but hugely important precision task for us to make the single glazed door panes in The Barn safe for future visitors by applying safety film. She spent considerable time measuring, cutting and applying safety film to each of the panes for us, using film which was kindly supplied via our wishlist and which has been patiently awaiting application in the Amazon Mountain Range until today. The relevant panes now sparkle like diamonds (other cleaning brands are available) and are safety-strong!
Outside, we had drains and gullies checked to make sure we're keeping water on site where it should be and not hoarding it where we shouldn't.
More safety foxie action on the cards for tomorrow, Love Foxie x
