Day 4 - When Foxie climbed the Amazon Mountain.
Day 4 - When Foxie climbed the Amazon Mountain.
Today was a quieter day on site due to the weather outside and it being the first weekend - the theme of Foxie's first weather continued with Foxie's First Rainstorm.
Some of the Team braved the weather and spent time on site battening down the hatches to keep out the heavy rain and we're pleased to say the buildings are all warm and dry - partly because the lovely volunteer arriving to help us learn the heating panel controls isn't due on site until next week.
It did give us a good chance to sort out the absolutely amazing mountain of Amazon boxes which have been arriving daily to two of our Trustees - there were so many on Friday at one house that it looked a bit like an Amazon box barricade across the front door! The boxes aren't all on site just yet and we've added inventories and 'Thank you's!' to the to-do list for next week as there are so many to do, but seeing all the things we need start arriving so quickly from our wonderful supporters is just fantastic. The limescale remover spray in the Accessible Suite (Ali Mac) showers has been a godsend (we're likely to need alot more as we go as we've got lots of showers still to do!). We're also tracking some shiny new shower fittings which we can see are on their way to us at the moment.
Unfortunately fundraising today didn't go as planned as the weather and needs on site meant we were unable to attend Girlguiding Chandler's Ford's Christmas Event - we hope it went well without us and that they'll forgive us for not getting to this one.
Back to system testing and paperwork now so that we can let those who asked to know how they can book from Monday next week.
More soon, Love Foxie x
