Day 51 - When the Wizard returned (or when the painting party continued)
Day 51 - When the Wizard returned (or when the painting party continued)
Some of you may recall from the blog so far that Foxlease Park has been frequented to-date by various magicians and wizards, by the names of Graham, James and David, depending upon the day, and today was the trimphant return and success of one of the Boiler Wizards, also known as James, who has completed the grand achievement of repairing the heating in The Coach House! This is truly cause for big celebrations as this means that we have not one, not two, not three, but three and a bit (four and bit if you count The Gatehouse) working heating systems on site, from a starting position of one and a half (if you counted The Gatehouse on a good day) at best! Our thanks to the wizards at Normans and volunteer Andy. We still have a couple of parts expected for them to finish off the hot water in The Coach House (to make sure it can be turned off...reverse problems now to previously) and to repair the partial heating in Foxlease House. Cosy times all round!
In other wizardly/magical news, we must add Volunteer Iain to the magical ranks (although given he was until very recently also our entire IT Team and is the most patient man alive when people keep forgetting passwords we may have to nominate him as Foxie's Superman instead) for his amazing progress, on the flooring in The Gatehouse. There's more to do but the kitchen looks spectacular now and we're very grateful. Also huge thanks to the volunteers who have so far spent hours scraping up the most super-glued carpet ever in The Gatehouse as it's extremely back-breaking (and in at least one case, blister-inducing) work. We're very keen to limit that to only a little stint at a time but we'll keep chipping (or scraping) away at that over the next week or so.
We also did a bit of grit spreading to remove our own inadvertent pathway ice-rink in front of The Barn and to keep our volunteers safe.
The paint party in The Lodge continued (and it's looking fabulous!!) and so did the paint party in The Barn (also looking fabulous!!) and more curtains were ironed to progress them ready for re-hanging (don't worry Jean, we haven't muddled them up, we promise!).
More painting (maybe less partying as people are a bit tired) and tracking down the elusive DHL delivery person with the soon-to-be-named dehumudifier tomorrow, Love Foxie x
