Day 94 - The lights are on and somebody's in! (or Foxie's first sleepover).
The lights are on in The Lodge on this very wet evening at Foxlease Park as our first residential booking is in progress and our Foxie mascot is on an adventure with the group staying there this evening so we hope to have some photos to share soon. We've also got a day booking on site in The Barn tomorrow so the day was spent making sure that both buildings were ready for their next visitors. We moved bins to the open buildings, which needed a good clean, and checked the drains were clear of leaves and other bits following the heavy weather recently.
We had cleaning taking place in The Coach House too and some sugar scrubbing ready for the next coat of painting in there soon. Our Volunteers moved around the kitchen equipment to make sure the buildings were stocked and we completed some final signage and our weekly fire alarm testing - our youngest volunteer was back on site for checking of some activity equipment and assisted with our fire alarm testing (with ear defenders, of course) and then the application of some no more nails to stick up some additional signage in The Barn.
We had a pillow delivery from Volunteer Sandy, who has been leading on our pillow recovering project to make them nice and fresh and easier to maintain and the mountain range is on the move - we are grateful to her for the several mini-pillow mountains which she has assisted with so far!
The Singing Washing Machine had a chorus or two in washing the cleaning cloths and towels from the use last week and we spent some time cleaning The Barn following our big quiz event and moving the temporary shop into there ready for the coming weeks' Wednesday Openings.
Hoping for better weather tomorrow, Love Foxie x
