It's been a busy start to the week on site at Foxlease Park and the chilly sunshine has been welcomed to allow us to keep going with work outside to the campsite huts and grounds.

Day 104 included clearance of the soakaways and pathways around the back of The Barn to assist with the drainage there and to prevent any further flooding of the pathway behind the building.  Volunteers Sue, Angela and Clare work hard for us clearing the wall and the soakaways and rescuing some of the little roaming primroses growing around the wall at the back.  Sue even found a bold little one growing through a stacked tile and she's taken that one to attempt a rescue transplant for us and give it a new life!  The others have been relocated to the front of The Barn where they can be appreciated.  We had a veritable typing pool going on the office, unusual for us, as the team and prepping the risk assessments and documents ready for the launch of our self-led activities offering on site and also our activities offering.

The start of the day included the arrival of an enormous pile to add to the Amazon Mountain Range courtesy of Foxie's Fairy Godparents - we've now had over 1000 listed items purchased for us, and bearing in mind that many of those include many multiple items, that's a seriously amazing amount of support and it's allowing us to do the works on site which we badly need to whilst the site is in this early phase of re-opening.  So our biggest "thank-you" to those in the Foxie's Fairy Godparents Crew, which seems to be growing all the time.

Yesterday also included some investigation of a few leaks arising from the recent stormy weather so that we can plan for the repairs of these in the next phase of the plan and lots of strimming of Apple Trees Campsite ready for our upcoming bookings in a few weeks' time.

Day 105, today, had lots more additional strimming on site as Volunteer Peter continued where Volunteer Jim left off yesterday and carried on to strim The Both and most of Nightingale Campsite too, which puts in a good place for our first campers on those sites.  We had tonnes of work today going on on Apple Trees and Nightingale, removing towel rails for refurbishment, replacing and repairing guttering and painting some of the internal areas to make them a bit lighter (hopefully!).  We also had a Team working on the first clean and clear of the Chaffinch Campsite Hut, making the most of the fine weather to get us ahead.

There was more flooring action in The Barn as the left half of the building has had a further clean and seal (thanks to Volunteer Corinne and Mt Cleaning) and the chairs from the Main Hall of The Barn have been moved out ready for further coats in there tomorrow.  That blue floor is just getting bluer!

We also had a great Team of Corporate Volunteers on site from Ordnance Survey today painting the Campsite Hut on Nightingale for us and they did a great job, managing nearly an entire hut between the 6 of them - we're very grateful to them for choosing us as the place to use their Corporate Volunteering hours.

We also ventured around the site, and ran into our deer little friends (see below), to turn the power on in the Campsite Huts across the site - including the lights!

More painting and repairs tomorrow, Love Foxie x
