As busy of a weekend as ever in the Foxlease Park sunshine - on Saturday we had a Team of volunteers working on reviving The Bothy for us - cutting back the edges and the brambles climbing over the back of it.  Cleaning, removing the old curtains and tracks from the walls, more cleaning, cleaning and cleaning - with toilets and showers that are looking less wild and much more habitable ready for our first guests on site in it soon.

On Sunday we had more hard work on the Nightingale Campsite hut, removing years' and years' worth of old rusty drawing pins, the old signs for the toilets and showers which are broken and discoloured (Foxie's Fairy Godparents are restocking us with new ones as I type) and also painting the base-layer on the new wood fitted this week ready for painting of the whole hut by one of our Corporate Volunteering Groups on Tuesday this coming week.  We've got similar tasks to do on the other three of the first four huts in use in March and so we'll be setting people to those tasks soon too as soon as we have people who are happy to tackle those.  We'll also be progressing a second and a third clean, along with work on The Coach House in the coming week.

Alongside that we had our wonderful contractors from Compass Projects on site again today, on a Sunday no less, to repair the chimney at The Gatehouse which was leaking following the recent bad weather.  It's another unexpected expense but we needed it done to ensure we can keep any visiting volunteers warm and able to shower when they stay as the boiler can't be used until it's repaired.  We're just waiting on a new hat for The Gatehouse now (also known as a chimney pot) and that should be ticked off the list this week so we're able to revisit the rest of the site again.

We also had sorting of the AV cupboard cables by the AV Team working on The Garrett Theatre's production of Alice over the Easter Weekend and sound board testing to make sure they know what kit they're going to use.  The curtain project in The Barn continued too and we're pleased to say that they are looking smart all over the building now.
