Day 2 - Foxie's First Snow!

We didn't expect to be announcing Foxie's First Snow so soon after Foxie's First Frost but today was the day and it was spectacular to see! 

By the time the Day Team arrived on site the flurries were thick and starting to settle and by mid-morning the site had a beautiful white blanket of snow.  The bonus to not having entirely figured out the complexities of our new heating system controls yet is that it was at least nice and warm (and in some smaller rooms perhaps a little too warm!).  We made a few quick health and safety changes to Site Office first thing in view of the weather and updated the Amazon Wishlist with a some new things we identified we might need as a result and we were off for day 2 of Foxlease Park's revival.

The beautiful white blanket across the site meant that some of the outdoor things planned on our day list didn't happen, but we're nothing if not flexible at this point and our fantastic team rapidly turned to indoor tasks instead where possible.  We particularly enjoyed the discovery that our new washing machine sang a rather long tune to us as it was setting itself up - it must be the Foxlease Park magic!

We made some new friends in the form of the very helpful contractors and service providers who stopped by to assist us with some set up and we've arranged more for the coming weeks....our fantastic Foxie's IT Team (which is mostly one amazing volunteer with endless patience) helped us to progress our migration to Microsoft and to negotiate with our new Broadband provider, all very necessary things.

In terms of our practical progress, we've managed to tick more of our initial cleaning off of our very long list and we're so excited that we've started progress towards cleaning and preparing some of the spaces in which we'll eventually be able to offer our volunteers from further afield a place to stay overnight.

And with all of that, Foxie still found time for a quick play in the snow before it started to disappear!
