Day 30 - The day Foxlease Park was well-hydrated!
We were expecting a lull in activity today at Foxlease Park as it was a low-volunteer day but due to the local water supply shortage in much of the area around Foxlease Park yesterday we put out a shout-out for volunteers to help us open the site for anyone who needed to come to fill their water containers up and the response from our supporters was amazing!
By 11.30am we were set up to manage traffic if people needed to attend, we'd managed to work 2 out of 3 outside hose points and we'd moved the barrier car park - we also took the opportunity to use the bags of gravel kindly donated to us yesterday to fill the worst of the holds up the drive temporarily. Thankfully, we had very low up take on the water filling front, which was good news as it meant that the local community supply had been largely reinstated, but we were ready!
Our volunteers who'd turned out for us were raring to do something useful as they were there and so we had further border clearance, cleaning around the front porch and the front of Foxlease House and some further removal of temporary wall in the internal office space, along with some checks on work done so far in some of our buildings where work has already started. We also had electricians on site doing works towards the heating works in The Barn and the Lodge so good progress there too.
Massive thanks again to all of those who answered our short-notice call to water and to those who offered to help.
Back to normal service on site tomorrow, Love Foxie x
