Day 31 - It's more curtains for Foxie (but in a good way!)

More hard work clearing cupboards in The Gatehouse and in The Sundial Garden today for our volunteers and also clearing some of the various garden areas around the site.  We now have all of our equipment (we think) more or less where we want it in our various stores.

Other volunteers were cleaning, cleaning, cleaning! There's so much to be done and so little time it's sleeves up and first and second cleans across the site. We also surveyed and reviewed some of the further works and tasks still to be done, taking stock of the days that we have left before our first visitors on site next year. We've got lots of wonderful volunteers signed up over the coming weeks and more offers of volunteering still to contact - we're working our way through getting back to everyone and hope to have been in touch with all our offers soon.

The Singing Washing Machine was also busy with the curtains from The Coach House which are coming up a treat and drying nicely with the heating on in the site office - they smell SO much better and the office smells nice and fresh too which is a great byproduct!

The other fantastic news today is that the boiler works in The Barn are officially complete and instructions and handover happened today! It's warming up nicely in there and with the recent guttering fixes and the new heating system operational the building is becoming the level of cosy which we'd like it to be and which we want to shout about given its previous issues and the fixes and new installation are also helping us to avoid any damp issues in that building. The boiler/heating works being complete means that our next tranche of volunteers over the December/New Year period can now start work in earnest in bringing The Barn up to our cleaning and repair standards so that we are all ready for our earliest bookings next year and our planned fundraising events.

It looks like limescale removal is on the cards tomorrow, Love Foxie x
