Day 46 - The Day Foxie raised the roof (or the paint party in The Lodge).
It was a crunchy leaf day on site today with the frost, immensely satisfying noises but a bit chilly - lots done regardless.
We had roofers in to help with the significant hole and damage to the roof of The Coach House today and whilst they've discovered that it's a much bigger job long-term as unfortunately the tiles on the right side of the roof need to be removed so that the felt can be replaced, they've done an incredible job to replacing the felt over the hole, re-battening the roof and replacing the tiles - in a moment of Foxlease Park Magic the tiles they had sourced from their store before coming to site for us were a perfect match for the existing tiles. The medium term fix today allows us the time to plan for the full felt replacement and to fundraise appropriately for that.
Alongside that we had Volunteers Nick and Michelle who moved mattresses for us into The Accessible Suite and who moved on to Polyfilla in The Barn and remove some of the wall coverings for re-painting, along with some other fixings. Separately from that, we had Volunteers Steph and Wendy who were working in The Lodge today smoothing the previous Polyfilla and having their own touch-up paint party to do the first cover over some of the portions on the walls which need painting to match their surroundings. It's exciting to see things coming together.
We also had our technical experts Volunteers Jim and Sandra on site to install our IT hardware and to expand Foxie's internet reach within Foxlease House and we are very grateful for their time and travels to assist us.
More touch-ups tomorrow to prep The Lodge and The Barn for action, Love Foxie x
