A bit of a frustrating day on site today thanks to the rain this weekend as, in the absence of the new doors for the back of The Barn (which we thought were on track but now appear not to be) the rainy weather over the weekend came into the back of The Barn and undid some of the hard work and time spent cleaning that area by some of our previous volunteers. We're better shored up for the weather now with a temporary fix until we manage to fund and solve the doors issue but frustrating nonetheless.

In other areas, good progress continues to be made. The roof on The Coach House seems to have withstood the nasty weather so that is a massive plus and we can start the follow on internal repairs to the interior of the roof soon. Unfortunately the hole in the roof up to now, which had clearly been the case for some time, has meant that more works are needed to the boiler in The Coach House, so we're getting a quote for that now too.

More sanding down in various places and painting happened in The Lodge today. We're making steady progress in there towards being ready for reopening and our first bookings and The Lodge is generally looking great and should be ready for the 24-Sing in a couple of weeks.

We updated our ladder register today - a task more challenging than one might think when they're in use around the site.  We've invested in a large-scale dehumifier to resolve some of the damp issues in various places - it's arriving Wednesday/Thursday and yet to be named, which of course it will have to be on arrival so suggestions welcome.  It's an expensive investment for us but will more than earn its keep in helping us to dry out some of the damp areas before re-opening.

The camp huts have all been opened up so works can start on checking and repairing those over the coming weeks. It's exciting to start work on another part of the site in conjunction with the other ongoing activity.

Our volunteer plumber made it back to site this afternoon for some of our small fixes needed and he'll be back later this week for more.

We also had window checks finished off in The Lodge, WD40 and safety catches checked and fitted, following the majority of that task completed yesterday.

A busy time and lots more wishes on our wishlist to stock us up for the next phase of works, Love Foxie x
