Today was 90% focussed on The Barn for our volunteers following the completion of the hot water works yesterday.

Our larger group of volunteers worked extremely hard deep cleaning The Barn kitchen and removing so much dust and grime build up that shelves and light fixings we thought were brown actually turned out to be white! The hatch has been under repair offsite thanks to one of our volunteers, to make sure that it opens and closes freely and that all is as it should be - it's being sanded down to better fit the hatch space and we expect its return to site for reinstallation soon!

Meanwhile, the final windows in the Barn needing application of safety film were completed by Volunteer Philippa on her third or fourth weekend of that pane-staking project and it's another tick off the to-do list!

We had volunteers working hard to prep the tiled area out the back by the kitchen in The Barn for the laying of the replacement tiles in there so that the floor is nice and even and smooth again with no damaged tiles.

As The Lodge is nearly complete now, save for a few final tasks and some third party commissioning works, there was only a small amount of time spent in there today (maybe 5%). Some of the new shower curtains were hung in the ensuite rooms - we've gone with a nice grey, mould resistant style - and our magician electrician worked his magic in the building too to replace on emergency light which wasn't working as it should.

The other 5% of time was spent dry brushing the ceiling of the Foxlease House porch to remove the layer of cobwebs and spiders' nests ready for further cleaning soon and scoping out some of the further works neede elsewhere on site so that we can prioritise.

Our magician electrician also helped with preparations for our upcoming quiz event but PAT testing the AV Cupboard equipment for us so that we're ready to rock and roll!

We're looking forward to being at the NFNPA Volunteering Fair tomorrow in Brockenhurst and we got the pile of bits for that ready to go for the morning. We'll have a small amount happening on site and lots of admin catch up!

We ended the day with beautiful evening skies (see photos).
