Day 68 - When Foxie went off site to make some new friends!

Low volunteer numbers on site today as some of the team were off site at the New Forest National Park Volunteering Fair in Brockenhurst. Teresa and Deborah who attended for us spoke to so many prospective local partners, potential volunteers and people who stopped by to ask a bit more about Foxlease Park and what our plans are. A great day to be spreading the word in the local communities and we're very grateful to the New Forest National Park Service for extending the application deadline to allow us to attend this year as otherwise we'd have missed it due to the timing of completion of the purchase.
We did have some activity on site today too, with careful inspection of the painting in the Main Hall of The Barn to check that we're there with that and the great news is that we are! This meant that the taped up dust sheets needed to removed in advance of the next stage of work in there and so Foxie (care of Volunteer Philippa) learned that unless your aim is to play parachute games with them, it's nearly impossible to fold up dust sheets whilst the new heating system in The Barn is on as the fans don't cooperate! We understand that she prevailed in the end though and so The Barn is ready for our next phase of works tomorrow now that the contractor's works in there are finished.
The other steps taken today, as well as lots of catch-up paperwork and emails, were to prepare the rear lobby in The Barn for re-tiling and to review our action list for the next steps needed to get The Barn ready for its first bookings.
Hoping for better weather than the forecast tomorrow so that we can keep progressing outside things, Love Foxie x
